What Property24 Does Well
Property24 is a listings portal. Its strength is the sheer volume of listings - hundreds of thousands of properties listed by agents and developers across South Africa. If you want to see what's available in a suburb, what properties are selling for, and what the market looks like right now, Property24 is an excellent starting point.
It has years of market data, a well-developed search interface, and strong brand recognition. For many buyers, it's where the property search begins.
What Property24 Doesn't Do
Property24 is commercially built around agent subscriptions. Agents pay significant monthly fees to list properties and feature their profiles. This creates a structural bias: the platform's commercial interests are aligned with agent activity, not necessarily with helping buyers and sellers make the best decisions.
This doesn't mean Property24's content is wrong - it means it's written with a certain perspective. Guides on the platform will generally not tell you that selling privately is a viable and often better option for sellers.
